A Ukrainian observation plane has come under fire near the administrative border with Russian-occupied Crimea, the media liaisons department of the State Border Service of Ukraine has reported.

 "A plane of the State Border Service, while patrolling the controlled border area, came under fire from an armored personnel carrier at a Russian checkpoint near the village of Armiansk (Crimea)," reads the statement, according to Ukrinform.

This is the second case when a Ukrainian plane patrolling the border was shot at, the State Border Service reported.

The first time when an observation plane came under fire from automatic weapons in this area was on March 8.
