SIMFEROPOL/AQMESCIT (QHA) -

The self-proclaimed Head of Crimea requests the Russian government to enable quashing of documents on plots of land on the peninsula, issued before the annexation of the Crimea, according to his message on Facebook:

At my initiative, proposals which will enable quashing of the documents confirming the land ownership in the Crimea and Sevastopol or the right to use them, issued by the state bodies of Ukraine, were sent to the government of Russia”, Aksyonov reported.

Aksyonov explained his request with “the need to clean up illegal development of coastal zones and reserves, common areas and expand the prospects for development of coastal regions”.

Reference: In March 2014, Russia annexed the peninsula after deploying its troops and conducting an illegal referendum. March 18, the so-called agreement on the Crimea and Sevastopol joining to Russia was signed in the Kremlin. Most of the world’s countries did not recognize Crimea as Russian territory and imposed a series of economic sanctions against Russia. For Ukraine, the Crimea remains a temporarily occupied territory.
