Oleksandr Savchenko, former Deputy Head of the National Bank of Ukraine, who currently holding the post of the Rector of the International Institute of Business, told about the Russian commodity expansion towards Ukraine in his interview with a QHA correspondent.
“The Cabinet of Ministers allegedly took symmetrical measures against Russian goods, but in fact the Ukrainian economy is still open to Russian expansion. For example, Russian machinery, chemical products and household chemicals are being imported into our country,” Oleksandr Savchenko said.
According to him, last year, Russia exported more agricultural products to Ukraine than Ukraine exported to Russia.
“During 2015 the trade turnover with Russia amounted to $ 3.1 billion. If it was not, Ukraine's GDP would grow by 4%. Ukraine should stop import Russian goods,” said the economist.
