Ukrainian Consulate sent a letter to Russian Federal Penitentiary Service demanding to allow diplomats to visit Hayser Lemilev, who is serving a sentence in the Astrakhan colony No. 10, Hromadske Radio reports.
According to the Consul General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don Vitaly Moskalenko, diplomats have not received a reply to the letter.
“We are not allowed to meet him within three months under various plausible, but in fact artificially created pretexts,” Moskalenko said.
Just a reminder: June 2015, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced Hayser Jemilev to 5 years in a general regime penal colony.
February 25, 2016, Soviet District Court of Astrakhan refused Hayser Jemilev in parole.
The defendant's lawyer Nikolai Polozov after the court refusal said that the European Court of Human Rights recognizes as illegal both the Russian court’s refusal in the parole and sentence itself.
