Ukraine won’t recognize legitimacy of elections in DPR and LPR

“Elections to be held by the terrorists in occupied Donbass will never be recognized as legitimate by Ukraine,” Alexander Turchinov, Security Council Secretary, said in a TV interview.

“Under the Minsk accords, elections in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions, referred to as the LPR and DPR by the terrorists, can only be held after the Russian troops stationed there are pulled out. Compliance with Ukrainian laws is also a necessary prerequisite for an election campaign to take place there,” Turchinov said.

“They don’t bother abiding by the Minsk accords but instead make a decision to hold their own elections in late October and early November. We will never recognize them as legitimate,” said Turchinov.

According to the Security Council Secretary, the terrorists only talk about complying with the Minsk accords but never intend to do so. They are also all talk and no action when it comes to putting an end to hostilities.
