Ukraine will retaliate against Russia for additional restrictions on the transit of Ukrainian goods imposed by the Russia’s President, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv told the Conciliatory Council on Monday as cited by Ukrinform.
- First of all, we will retaliate against Russian restrictions imposed on the Ukrainian goods and transit to the other countries. It is an absolutely clear position consistent with the international law, the WTO and the EU. Second, we will retaliate by raising the customs duties for Russian goods imported to Ukraine. All of this will work out once the presidential decree comes into effect, said Stepan Kubiv.
As QHA reported earlier, Russia has imposed additional restrictions on the transit of Ukrainian goods through its territory. In particular, the existing restrictions on the transit of goods to the Republic of Kazakhstan also apply to the transit to the Kyrgyz Republic. The legislative changes also provide for a complete ban on the transit of goods "under embargo".
