(QHA) -

The State Border Service of Ukraine is reinforcing the administrative border between Kherson region and Crimea, head of the media liaisons department of the State Border Service Oleh Slobodian announced, Ukrinform reports.

"We are taking adequate steps, pulling up technical means to the border, organizing software backup, etc," Slobodian said.

He said that Ukraine was thus reacting to the fact that from April 25 Russia is switching to the complete, in their opinion, protection of the border with Ukraine between Kherson region and Crimea.

However, the issue does not currently concern the creation of border crossings, as this is not within the competence of the State Border Service, he said.

"Control posts are currently operating there, but if such a decision is taken at the government level, then we will implement it," Slobodian said.
