At the official meeting with the President of Poland Andrzej Duda, the Ukrainian leader thanked the Polish government and people for their firm stand against the Russian occupation of the Crimea, according to a QHA correspondent.
“I want to express my gratitude to our Polish partners for their stand against the Russian aggression and annexation of Crimea. We appreciate Poland's position on keeping sanctions against the aggressor,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The President reported that a joint Ukrainian-Polish-Lithuanian brigade attended the morning military parade, which took place in the city center.
August 23, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda started a two-day visit to Ukraine. The Head of the Polish state took part in the main celebrations in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Ukraine's Independence.
The Presidents of Ukraine and Poland are to hold a meeting, where they will sign a joint Declaration on the Polish-Ukrainian relations.
