Ukraine has started a campaign for snap presidential elections on May 25, as the location of the country's fugitive president remains unknown.

The nomination of presidential candidates begins on February 25 and will last until March 30, according to Ukrinform.

Candidates may be nominated by parties or self-nominated. It is necessary to make a deposit of UAH 2.5 million to register a candidate. For this purpose, the CEC has published the number of a special account opened for the placement of deposits by candidates for the Ukrainian president.

To recall, Ukraine is being governed by an interim government led by parliament speaker Oleksandr Turchinov.

Authorities in Kiev have issued an arrest warrant for Yanukovych over the killing of 82 people, primarily demonstrators, in clashes between protesters and police.
