The Security Service of Ukraine does not share Nadezhda Savchenko's initiative of holding direct talks with the leaders of the LPR and DPR militants, ZN.UA quotes Yuri Tandit, Advisor to Head of Ukraine’s Security Service, as saying.
According to Tandit, Leader of the DPR Aleksander Zakharchenko cannot be a subject of official negotiations because he is charged with committing a serious offense and wanted internationally.
“To us, neither Zakharchenko nor Plotnitskyr are law-abiding citizens of Ukraine. Let us not forget that they, unfortunately, gave orders to murder people. Zakharchenko was the one who organized, carried out and led the parade in which Ukrainian POWs were made to walk,” he said.
Tandit also said that there are a lot of people in Donetsk and Luhansk who are determined to be reunited with Ukraine and remain faithful to their country in spite of Russian propaganda.
In an interview with Radio Era, Ukrainian MP Nadezhda Savchenko said that the conflict in Donbas should be resolved by political means, such as by ‘convincing Russia to withdraw its militants’ and holding direct talks with leaders of the DPR and LPR terrorist organizations.
Savchenko said she is ready to negotiate personally with the leaders of the DPR and LPR whom she called ‘people's deputies’.
