KYIV (QHA) -
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine expressed protest in connection with the massive searches in the homes of the Crimean Tatars of Crimea by the occupation authorities, unlawful detention and subsequent arrest of five citizens of Ukraine on October 12, according to the MFA press center.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry these actions the ongoing repressive policy aimed at intimidating the population of the peninsula in order to suppress dissent and civil resistance to the illegal annexation:
 
“We believe that attempts to hide the occupant's self-will and contempt for human rights behind "the fight against terrorism and extremism" is no longer misleading. Using such methods Russia is personally implanting terror on the seized Ukrainian territory, sowing fear and powerlessness, violating the basic norms of international law, democratic rights and freedom.”
 
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry demands the immediate release of five prisoners, the Crimean Tatars activists Teymur Abdullayev, Uzeyir Abdullayev, Eider Saledinov, Emil Dzhemadinov and Rustem Ismailov, as well as the other Ukrainian citizens illegally detained by Russian occupying power.
 
Ukraine calls for increased pressure on the Russian Federation with the requirement to immediately stop the persecution and repression of ethnic and religious conflicts in the temporarily occupied territory of the peninsula.
 
October 12, a new wave of raids began in Crimea. In particular, in the arrays of Stroganovka and Kamenka, Simferopol district. FSB searched the homes of the Crimean Tatars. Following the  searches, all were taken to the FSB department in the Crimea. Four Crimean Tatars are charged with participation in the activities of the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir", recognized terrorist in Russia. Timur Abdullayev is charged with the first part of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - the organization of activity of the terrorist unit.
 
The so-called case of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" has become the hallmark of the FSB struggle against Muslim dissidents in Crimea. The security forces break into the houses, conducted illegal searches and detentions under the pretext of suspicion of terrorism and calling their repressive operations combating extremism.
