BRUSSELS (QHA) -
On the occasion of the third anniversary of the annexation of Crimea, the Ukrainian Ambassador to the EU Nikolai Tochitsky stated the need to create a single international mechanism for the de-occupation of Crimea.
"It's time to develop and launch an international negotiating mechanism for Crimea's de-occupation for the sake of restoring Ukraine's sovereignty over the peninsula," Tochitsky said.
He also touched upon the problem of political prisoners, noting that "every effort should be made to free all Ukrainians who were illegally detained for political reasons."
"After three years of occupation and military aggression against Ukraine, it is time for the international community to find the right political response to Russia's behavior," the Ambassador said.
Earlier, QHA reported that March 18, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Finland have confirmed their support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
