Ukraine’s acting President appoints new representative in Crimea

Speaker of Crimean Parliament, acting President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov appointed Natalia Popovich Permanent Representative of the President in Crimea, president’s press-service reports.

Earlier,February 27, Sergey Kunitsyn was appointed to this post, still he was dismissed on March 26 for “improper execution of official duties”.

It should be noted, Permanent Representative Office of Ukrainian President in Crimea, is currently located in the city of Kherson (mainland Ukraine).

March 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on annexation of Crimean peninsula and declared the region subject of Russian federation.

Kyiv authorities and Western powers, however, do not recognize the annexation.
