Ukraine renews calling up to military service over Russian aggression

Interim President of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov has signed a decree on measures to improve the national defense capabilities of the country. Due to this fact, the draft in the Ukrainian Armed Forces is resumed.

This was announced on the presidential website, channel "24" reports.

The corresponding decree was signed by Turchynov due to the aggravation of the socio-political situation in Eastern and Southern Ukraine, creation of pro-Russian paramilitary units, capturing of the administrative building and Russian intervention in Ukraine's domestic affairs.

Men will be drafted in the army in accordance to the Law of Ukraine "On Military Conscription and Military Service".

Male citizens of Ukraine should be drafted, fit for military service in peacetime, who prior to the date of departure of troops was 18 years old and older persons who have not attained the age of 25 and are not eligible for the exemption or deferral of conscription for military service.
