Ukrainian Parliament has passed changes to the Criminal Code and Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine regarding the application of the provisions of Article 19 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption to the national laws,  that will allow the release from prison of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, the parliamentarians said during the debate. 

The bill was favored by 310 parliamentarians,  Interfax-Ukraine reports.

Tymoshenko was arrested on August 5, 2011. Kyiv's Pechersky District Court found her guilty of abuse of office in signing a gas supply contract with Russia in 2009 and sentenced her to 7 years in prison on October 11, 2011.
