Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkyavichus expects good news on the visa regime liberalization for Georgia and Ukraine by the end of the year, reports 112.ua citing the Minister as saying at a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, Vice-President of the European Commission.
Lynas Linkyavichus also spoke on the need to provide greater financial and political support for countries seeking to improve relations with the EU. Also during the meeting, the Minister recalled the Minsk accords and said that only after they have been implemented by the Russian Federation, it will be possible to review the EU's policy towards Russia.
As for the next year’s prospects, a new global strategy for foreign and the EU security policy must take into account emerging threats and give a clear-cut assessment of the Russia’s actions towards Ukraine.
