The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry urged the Russian Federation to release from custody the Crimean prisoner, Ukrainian citizen Volodymyr Balukh, Foreign Ministry speaker Mariana Betsa stated on Twitter.

The speaker noted that the prisoner of the Kremlin has been starving for 10 days.

"We demand RF to immediately release a political prisoner in ARC V. Balukh who went on a hunger strike on March 19. The case is fabricated," Betsa wrote.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin stated that Volodymyr Balukh is a person of unbending will.

A human rights activist Volodymyr  Chekrygin said on Radio Hayat, that Balukh continues his hunger strike, despite health problems. According to him, Balukh has problems with the liver and he has a cold.
