Ukraine charges 76 Crimean MPs with high treason

Ukraine’s Prosecutor General has put 76 deputies of Crimean Parliament, charged with high treason, on wanted list, official web site of the prosecutor reports. Criminal case was opened under the article 111 of Ukrainian Criminal Code (high treason).

“The suspects we put on wonted list, the court ordered to arrest them”- said in the statement.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General has informed the deputies via Russian Embassy about the charges against them.

Meanwhile, the first Ukrainian serviceman from Crimea who had betrayed his oath to Ukraine and joined the Russian army following Crimea’s unification with Russia was detained in Ukraine.

The investigators from the chief military prosecutor's office told the TV channel that the arrest is the only one of this kind in Ukraine.
