During the official visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman to the Republic of Turkey, an Agreement was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on amending the Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on conditions for mutual trips of citizens.
Ambassador of Ukraine in the Republic of Turkey Andrei Sibiha shared the corresponding information on Twitter with a photo of the document signed by him.
According to the agreement, citizens of Ukraine and Turkey using passports in the form of an ID card with a contactless electronic carrier will be able to enter, exit, follow transit and stay on the territory of Turkey and Ukraine without visas for up to 90 to 180 days respectively.
The press service of the government portal later noted that implementation of the Agreement provisions will promote the development of bilateral relations between the countries and intensification of contacts in the social, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
Moreover, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Grinevich and the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of the Turkish Republic Yekta Saraç signed a Memorandum on Cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Council of Higher Education of the Republic.
The document consolidates the agreements reached during the official visits of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to the Republic of Turkey on 9-10 March 2016 and the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of the Turkish Republic Yekta Saraç in Ukraine on 23 May of the same year.
