The head of the Green faction in the European Parliament Rebecca Harms in an interview to "Deutsche Welle" stressed that the issue of release of prisoners and the former Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko remains on the agenda of the EU, UNN reports citing the foreign media. "This requirement remains constant. The European Parliament by its majority adopted that the precondition for signing the Association Agreement with Ukraine is the acceptance of the rule of law, eliminating selective justice and the release of political prisoners. And since Ukraine is still far from it, in my opinion, the question of Yulia Tymoshenko will remain in the EU agenda, "- the politician said. However, she noted that Yulia Tymoshenko in Ukraine "is actually convicted of opaque making gas contracts with Russia in 2009." "What does Ukraine have now? Recent gas deals with Russia - who knows what about them? Therefore, Tymoshenko's remaining in custody is unacceptable," - the politician said.
