The Chairman of the Batkivshchyna (Fatherland) Party Yulia Tymoshenko held a meeting with the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood Policy and Extension Johannes Khan, at which the parties discussed the current state of Ukraine-EU relations, the press service of the Fatherland party reported.

Particular attention was paid to the need for transparency in the political process related to the preparations for the presidential elections in Ukraine.

The press service noted that Johannes Khan expressed concern over the regression in the fight against corruption in Ukraine.

Furthermore, the parties discussed the issues of the illegal annexation of the Crimea and the conflict in the Donbas, as well as the protection of internally displaced persons and all citizens of Ukraine.

Reportedly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin stated that he could not reach an agreement with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on peacekeepers in the Donbas during the negotiations in Munich. Klimkin said that the parties discussed JCCC issues, namely, how to resume the work of the center after withdrawal of the Russian side.
