Twenty-three candidates are running for Ukraine's presidency

The Central Election Commission of Ukraine has completed the registration of presidential candidates having registered 23 contenders for presidency, according to Interfax-Ukraine.

A total of 46 candidates filed their documents, 23 of them were denied registration due to non-compliance with the law.

The candidates nominated by their political parties include leader of the Batkivschyna Party Yulia Tymoshenko, Leader of the Svoboda All-Ukrainian Association Oleh Tiahnybok , Communist Party Leader Petro Symonenko, and the others.

The self-nominees include Ukrainian businessman, owner of Roshen Confectionery Corporation, MP Petro Poroshenko.

The presidential elections are scheduled for May 25.
