BRUSSELS (QHA) -

During the meeting with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, European Council President Donald Tusk assured that the EU will never recognize the Russian annexation of the Crimea.
He made a corresponding statement on Twitter.

“Meeting President Poroshenko to prepare the EaPSummit. Sadly also a moment to mourn the death of veteran activist Vedzhiye Kashka and express our solidarity with the Crimean Tatar community and all of Ukraine. EU will never recognise Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea," Tusk wrote.

As it is known, on November 23, searches were conducted in Crimean Tatars' homes and several activists of the national movement were arrested for allegedly "extorting on an especially large scale" from a Turkish citizen.

Four activists - Asan Chapukh, Bekir Degermendzhi, Kyazim Ametov, Ruslan Trubach - were detained for 48 hours.

As a result of the actions of the security forces in the Crimea on November 23, 83-year-old Vedzhie Kashka, a veteran of the Crimean Tatar national movement, died.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has initiated a criminal investigation into the facts of illegal searches, detentions and death of a veteran of the Crimean Tatar national movement Vedzhie Kashka.

On air of the Hayat Radio Crimean Tatar activist Server Mustafayev said that searches and detentions of Crimean Tatars by the FSB security forces are an act of intimidation of the whole people.
