During a recent press conference Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that the fight against terrorism will continue in Syria and in Turkey as well, reported the AA agency.
Law enforcement agencies in Turkey are actively sweeping from terrorists the east of the state along the Turkish-Syrian border, that is about 10-12 districts of the country. In his speech Binali Yildirim dwelled upon the recent dismissals of officials in any way associated with Kurdish terrorists:
The process has started with the Ministry of Education. In the coming days it will come to the Ministry of Interior, the Governors’ Administrations, municipalities. Appropriate measures will be taken against persons associated with the separatist terrorist organization. This is clearly stated in the government's decision to impose the emergency state in the country.
The "Euphrates Shield" is a joint military operation carried out by the special operation groups with the Turkish Armed Forces and the Air Forces of the international coalition against ISIL terrorist organization in Syria, which started in the early morning of August, 24. The main objectives of the offensive are to clear the frontier regions from IS terrorists, ramp up the border security, provide support for the territorial integrity in Syria, as well as to prevent the creation of so-called "Kurdish corridor” on the southern border.
