The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned Andrey Karlov, Russian Ambassador to Turkey, to lodge a protest over multiple protests held outside Turkish diplomatic missions in Russia. According to the statement released by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, the situation is becoming unacceptable.

“We have sadly been witnessing Turkish diplomatic missions, as well as representative offices of Turkish companies in the Russian Federation, being assaulted by allegedly peaceful protesters. We find it unacceptable and have let our position known to the Russian Ambassador to Turkey by summoning him to the Foreign Ministry,” reads the Ministry’s statement.

It was reported earlier that the Turkish Embassy in Moscow got pelted with stones on November 25. On November 26, a Turkish flag was burned outside the General Consulate of Turkey in the Russian city of Novorossiysk, while the building itself was attacked with stones.
