The Turkish Embassy in Ukraine released a statement on its Facebook account saying that situation in the Republic of Turkey returns to normal.
"The situation unfolded in Turkey was a coup attempt to overthrow the democratically-elected government. This attempt was foiled by the Turkish people in unity and solidarity. Our President and Government are in charge. Turkish Armed Forces was not involved in the coup attempt in its entirety. It was conducted by a clique within the Armed Forces and received a well-deserved response from our nation," reads the statement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed its support for the people and the democratically elected authorities of the Republic of Turkey.
Just a reminder: Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim reported the attempted military coup on the night of 15 - 16 July. The Turkish army immediately claimed responsibility for the events and declared the seizure of power in the country.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the citizens via videoconference, and urged people to fight with the rebels. Now elimination of rebels in of the Armed Forces of the Republic is being conducted throughout Turkey, while rallies and clashes are being staged in streets.
At the moment, the rebels surrender their weapons. Some 1574 military have been arrested after the coup attempt.
According to the preliminary data, around 90 people have been killed including civilians. The number of victims has reached 154 people. In addition, a total of 104 rebels have been eliminated.
