Turkey is planning to send an unofficial delegation to inspect the situation of Crimean Tatars in Crimea, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Monday during a Turkey-Ukraine Joint Strategic Planning Group meeting in Kiev.
"We put on agenda the question on sending unofficial delegation to inspect the situation of Crimean Tatars in Crimea. We do not support Crimean annexation, still people should not suffer because of it. We are to take steps in this direction, together with Ukrainian side, following its advices and help”- Cavusoglu said.
"Turkey is closely following the situation of Crimean Tatars” - he said, adding that Turkey supports Ukraine's territorial integrity, including Crimea.
Crimea seceded from Ukraine and was annexed by Russia in March, following local referendum on the region's status.
