Turkey is ready to help with the construction of housing for the displaced in Kherson region, Refat Chubarov, one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people, told in an interview with Zerkalo Nedeli.

- The Turkish government is ready to start financing the construction of thousands of homes for Crimean Tatars, who have been forced to leave the peninsula. But it will be possible only if the executive power of Ukraine also coordinates its work on land allocation, approval of the necessary project documentation and decision-making, said Chubarov.

First of all, it will be done in order to preserve the cultural values of the people.

- It will be two or three compact settlements for Crimean Tatars. Our aim is to prevent Crimean Tatars from being scattered all over Ukraine, ensure the right to education in their native language and other cultural needs, said the Head of the Mejlis.

Turkey is ready to begin construction of houses for IDPs as of today.

- Now it's up to the Ukrainian Ministries and Departments to co-ordinate their work. They should make quick decisions rather than allocating land for a year as is common in our country, said Chubarov.

As QHA reported earlier, Ukraine and Turkey will also cooperate in the defense sector.
