Turkey's position under the new political system concerning the occupied Crimea and the Donbas will not change, according to the Ambassador of Turkey in Ukraine Yonet Can Tezel.

He noted that the Turkish-Ukrainian relations will continue to develop.

“Turkey's principled position on the Crimea and the Donbas, as well as support for the choice of the Ukrainian people to integrate with the transatlantic community - is well known. And our position has not changed. This policy is sincere and remains in force, as it is beneficial for Turkey and Ukraine, as well as for the whole region.”

According to him, Turkey and Ukraine will continue to work on the conclusion of an agreement on free trade.

Earlier, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan promised to help Ukraine in the release of hostages and political prisoners in Russia.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, during his visit to Turkey, called on Erdogan to facilitate in the release of Ukrainian hostages.
