ANKARA (QHA) -

Officials of the capital Ankara recommend Turkish citizens not to visit Russia, for no particular reason, against a backdrop of escalation of relations between the two countries, the BBC Russian service reports, with reference to the Turkish Foreign Ministry.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry recommends its citizens to delay all trips to Russia until 'the situation becomes clearer.' The reason for this is that Turkish businessmen and tourists began to get involved in unpleasant situations in Russia, after escalation of relations between the two countries due to the downed Russian warplane.

It was reported earlier that Russian Su-24 was shot down after violating Turkish airspace and ignoring repeated warnings of Turkish Air Force in the area of the Syrian-Turkish border on November 24, 2015.
