According to Mevlut Cavusoglu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, his country, jointly with other members of the US-backed coalition, is gearing up to launch a large-scale offensive against militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Reuters reports.

"In keeping with our deal with the United States, we have made significant progress opening our bases, such as Indzhirlik military installation. We are seeing US planes and drones arriving and will soon be launching a major attack on ISIL," said Cavusoglu.

Just a reminder: 1,302 individuals suspected of being members of ISIL and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, including members of illegal leftist radical groups and movements, have been detained in 39 Turkish provinces during raids on Islamists and Kurds.
