Acting Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov has accepted the resignation of Permanent Representative of the Ukrainian President to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Viktor Plakyda and appointed Serhiy Kunitsyn to this position.

Decrees to this effect were signed on Thursday and posted on the acting president's website.

Kunitsyn is a Ukrainian parliament deputy (UDAR). He twice chaired the Crimean Council of Ministers (May 1998 to July 2001 and April 2002 to April 2005), headed the Sevastopol city administration (July 2006 to April 2010) and was a Crimean parliament deputy.
