Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Olexandr Turchynov commented on the statement by the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation about the alleged "violations of Russian airspace by Ukraine during the missile tests."
"Russian hysteria that Ukraine, violating all international agreements, unilaterally decided to carry out missile tests in the 'sovereign air space of the Russian Federation' is devoid of common sense," he stated.
According to the Secretary of the NSDC, under all international agreements, the sovereign airspace of the Russian Federation in the Black Sea is limited just in the middle of the Kerch Strait.
"In this area, Ukraine does not plan to conduct missile tests. The rest of the area westward of the Strait of Kerch is the sovereign airspace of Ukraine," said Turchinov, adding that Ukraine carries out missile tests in the framework of international commitments and agreements.
That is why we ask the Russian Federation not to interfere in testing with their hysterics and provocations," said the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine.
Previously, the Russian propaganda edition Krym Inform reported that on November 24, Ukraine issued a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) on activation of dangerous zones in the airspace in connection with the missile-firing exercises scheduled on December 1-2.
The Rosaviation specified that Ukraine has announced the establishment of the first danger zone on December 1-2 from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, at all altitudes, within airspace over the high seas in the area, recognized as the territory of Ukraine, but now the de facto controlled by the Russian Federation.
The second danger zone is established on December 1, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm and December 2 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, at all altitudes, within airspace over the high seas in the area of Simferopol district center.
