The National Anti-Corruption Committee of Ukraine is investigating a corruption scheme of Yanukovych times.

The Committee has found books confirming that Paul Manafort received more than 12 million dollars while holding an office of the Advisor to a former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.

The books mention Manafort 22 times and document the payment of 12.7 million dollars in 2007-2012, reported The New York Times.

The former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych fled to Russia during the Euromaidan. The document also states that Manafort had links with a Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.

According to New York Times, Manafort declined to be interviewed. At the same time, his lawyer has assured all that he did not receive any cash payments and did not take part in any illegal activities.
