A hearing in Ali Asanov case is due to take place at Simferopol’s Kievsky District Court at 2 p.m. on November 17. Ali Asanov is charged with involvement in the so-called February 26 events.
Akhtem Chiygoz, Mejlis Deputy Chairman, is also to stand trial at the same court which is due to start at 4 p.m., writes Nariman Jelyal, Mejlis First Deputy, on his Facebook page.
“They will most likely decide on whether to remand Mustafa Degermzhi in custody on the same day. I don’t know when that will take place,” he writes.
It was reported earlier that Mustafa Degermzhi was detained on May 7 after a criminal case was initiated against him for his involvement in mass riots outside the Crimean Parliament building on February 26. Back then, a thousands strong was being held during which supporters of Ukraine’s territorial integrity clashed with activists of the Russian Unity Party.
Akhtem Chigoyz, who the investigators accuse of being the rally’s organizer, and Ali Asanov, a father of 4 minor children, were also placed under arrest they are to stay under until November 19, 2015.
