The Iraqi army has driven ISIS militants from El Kayyara

Continuous confrontation lasted for two days.

Following the two days of intense hostilities, the Iraqi Army liberated the village El Kayyar in southern of Mosul from the "the Islamic state" terrorists.

 The Iraqi flag was raised at the government buildings, said the Iraqi army Colonel Anadolu Emin Sheyhani.
The Security Forces of Iraq took control of all the exits from the village. The terrorists were not able to leave it.

“A lot of ISIS terrorists were eliminated in the course of the hostilities in the center of El Kayyara ,” Sheyhani said.

The Iraqi army had surrounded the El Kayyar 60 kilometers south of Mosul in advance.
June 12, the Iraqi Defense Ministry reported about the start of the second operation phase on driving the terrorists from the southern areas of Mosul.
