The court banned the Communist Party to hold referendum

Kyiv (QHA) - Kyiv District Administrative Court banned the Communist Party to hold meetings of citizens with a purpose of conducting a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the Customs Union. This decision was taken on Monday, Sept. 2, reports facenews. As reported earlier, the Communists Party of Ukraine initiated collection of signatures of citizens for conducting referendum for Ukraine’s entrance to the Customs Union. In turn, the European Party of Ukraine submitted a claim to the Kyiv District Administrative Court to prohibit such actions of the Communist Party. In addition, the court also opened proceedings at the suit of the European Party and scheduled preliminary hearing for Sept. 13. As is known, Ukraine declared a strategic course for the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU at the November summit in Vilnius.
