Speaker of Crimean Parliament Volodymyr Konstantinov had stressed Crimea may secede from Ukraine if tensions escalate further in Ukraine.
The statement led to criticism of Crimean Tatar officials.
MP of Ukrainian Parliament, ex-head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev considers the statement that Crimea may secede from Ukraine as treason, QHA reports.
“Such kind of statements, appealed by public officer may be considered as treason. General Prosecutor's office should take immediate measures to open criminal case against him – Jemilev noted. Still it will happen later, when political situation in Ukraine is stable” - he added.
Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people, Ukrainian MP Refat Chubarov has also criticized the statement, noting that Crimean Tatars will not allow Crimean separation from Ukraine.
To recall, Crimean Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Konstantinov claimed if tensions escalate further in the country Autonomous Republic may secede from Ukraine.
