Some of 150 people have been questioned on the issue of the rally held Feb 26, 2014, in Simferopol.
Head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Crimea Mikhail Nazarov announced this during a press conference in Simferopol.
Nazarov, however, failed to answer the question, whether Crimean head Sergey Aksyonov was questioned on the issue.
“It is not correct to ask this kind of questions here”- Nazarov said when asked about Aksyonov. “We urge everyone who knows anything about the events of that day to provide these data. We will surely check every statement"- he added.
Thousands of Crimean Tatars rallied at the building of Crimean Parliament on Feb 26, 2014, showing their support to Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
The rally was organized by the head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov.
It should be noted, that the participants of the rally clashed with representatives of Crimean party “Russkoye Edinstvo” (Russian Unity), at that time headed by Sergey Aksyonov.
Both Aksyonov and Chubarov were trying to calm people down.
On this fact there was brought the criminal case under p.1, 2 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which sanction provides from 4 to 10 years of imprisonment.
