Head of the CEC Kurultai of the Crimean Tatar people Zaire Smedlyaev predicts the possible detention of the Crimean Tatars, whose houses are searched by the FSB today, on October 12, he told to QHA.
“As of now, Eider Saledinov is taken to the FSB. Searches are continuing. I think they will take away everyone, and the arrests are not excluded. It is the old script: Searches, interrogations, detentions, and then some high-profile case, like "Hizb ut-Tahrir." They [the Russian authorities - Ed.] have a horror story and they keep sticking to it,” Smedlyaev said.
Lawyer Emil Kurbedinov has the same opinion.
“Judging by the fact that the Crimean Tatars searched are Muslims, some of whom have recently returned from the Hajj [pilgrimage], they will be probably charged with of involvement in Hizb ut-Tahrir!” Kurbedinov wrote on his Facebook page.
This morning, October12, a new wave of searches began in the Crimea, in particular, in arrays of Stroganovka and Kamenka. FSB officials are searching the houses of the Crimean Tatars Emil Dzhemadenov, Eider Saledinov, Uzeyir Abdullayev, Timur Abdullayev and Rustem Ismailov.
