In occupied Crimea, only those, who passed the check by law enforcement officials, were allowed to attend the Pancake Festive. For example, more than a thousand citizens had to pass through metal detectors in Simferopol, UA press reports.
According to local media reports, a lot of people, including youth and women with kids came to enjoy the folk festival in the center of Simferopol. Police forced people to pass through an archway metal detector, and in some cases even checked the children's things. The situation was under the control of a few dozen police officers and the same number of local self-defense members.
This event has caused a storm of discontent on the Crimean forums. Some people wrote, "After two years of slavery, there could be Maidan, the authorities take it hard."
