Several thousand people have gathered in Kiev’s Mikhailovskaya Square for a UPA march marking the Defender’s Day.

Among those participating in the march are representatives of the Freedom Party, Right Sector, and other organizations. After forming a column, the people intend to march along Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya and Artyoma Streets to the Luk’yanovsky pre-trial detention facility. A 50-meter long Ukrainina flag is expected to be carried ahead of the column.

Police in large numbers are reported to have sealed off the streets.

A prayer service in remembrance of volunteers who laid down their lives in eastern Ukraine and the Heavenly Hundred has been held prior to the march.
