There has been no word on the whereabouts of Oleg Sentsov, a Ukrainian political prisoner illegally held in Russia, since he was taken to an unknown location on the night of March 6-7, 2016.
“We do not know where he is now. After he was taken out of Chelyabinsk, we requested the senior personnel of the pre-trial detention center he was held in for a written acknowledgement of the fact. We got the acknowledgement but they declined to tell us his current whereabouts after we asked them for it,” said Tatyan Schur, a member of the Supervisory Council of the Russian Federation, said in an interview aired by 122 Ukraine TV Channel.
Off the record, they told her they did not know where Sentsov was, and even if they did they would not tell her.
“We assume they put him on a train travelling along the Trans-Siberian Railway. I guess he has not arrived in Novosibirsk yet. Our friends there, who are also human rights activists, agreed to assist us in tracking down his location,” Schur said.
