As a former political prisoner Nadiya Savchenko initiates the creation of the Committee on the Ukrainian political Prisoners kept in Russian prisons, reported Interfax.
- I am creating a Committee for the Liberation of Ukrainian Political Prisoners held in the Russian Federation. I propose the world politicians to enter this Committee, said Savchenko on Tuesday during a round table in the PACE in Strasbourg.
The MP with the "Fatherland" Party went on saying the Committee will work on a voluntary basis. The Captain Savchenko, who fought in the ATO zone, stressed that "one cannot say that soldiers are sinless, but they cannot be called murderers."
- In any war, the soldier who defends his homeland is forced to kill since he is also the target of shooting and killing. Thus, it is absolutely dishonest to say it is a criminal act. All the cases against Ukrainians have been brought to these fake Russian courts ... I hope it (Russia - ed.) has already come round, the Kremlin has realized its mistake and is ready to return all the Ukrainians back to Ukraine, said Savchenko.
Currently, the MP Nadiya Savchenko is participating in the PACE session held in Strasbourg.
