Contrary to what Savchenko’s defense lawyers insisted on, the Donetsk court granted a request to keep Savchenko in custody submitted by the General Prosecutor’s Office, writes Mark Feigin, Savchenko’s defense lawyer, on his Twitter page.

The Court of Appeal in Moscow extended a term Savchenko is to stay in custody until September 30.

A request for subsequent hearings to be held in Moscow again submitted by Savchenko was turned down by the Moscow City Court.

Savchenko’s case is currently being tried at a court in the Rostov region.
