In 2017, the planes of nine airlines that carried out illegal flights to the occupied Crimea also flew to the EU countries. The total number of such flights was 164.  The expert of the Maidan of Foreign Affairs Foundation Olga Korbut provided the corresponding information at a press conference, QHA correspondent reports.

“In 2017, 164 aircraft were registered, which first flew to the airport of Simferopol, and then carried out regular flights to the airports of the EU member states, the United States and other countries that do not recognize the annexation of the Crimea,” Korbut informed.

The recorded flights were made to Larnaca (Cyprus) - 46, Paphos (Cyprus) - 5, Oslo (Norway) - 18, Prague (Czech Republic) - 31, Stockholm (Sweden) - 19, Paris (France) -20, New York (USA) - 9, and others.

Earlier, QHA reported that the Maidan of Foreign Affairs Foundation, the Black Sea Strategic Studies Institute and BlackSeaNews appealed to Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, with proposals to expand sanctions on the two shipbuilding companies of the Russian Federation, the "Caucasus" port, as well as planes of 9 airlines that carried out flights to the occupied Ukrainian peninsula.
