Leader of the Ukrainain party Movement of New Forces Mikheil Saakashvili after deportation from Ukraine appealed to German Chancellor Angela Merkel with a request for help.

“At the cafe in Kyiv, I was attacked by men wearing masks, they abducted me, threatened me and took me out on a private plane to Poland. Behind this action is the corrupted Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko," he said.

Saakashvili further noted that he intends to return to Ukraine legally.

“We will win this battle.”

Commenting on his deportation over the phone from Warsaw, Mikheil Saakashvili called President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko "a huckster who wants to ruin Ukraine". The politician also said that the criminal case against him is a lie.

QHA reported that the ex-president of Georgia and the ex-head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili was detained in Kyiv and deported.

Speaker of the Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodyan reported on his Facebook page that the leader of the Movement of New Forces Mikheil Saakashvili was deported to Poland.

The Ukrainian security forces had detained Saakashvili in the Suluguni restaurant, where the politician had lunch. On footage taken on the phone, it was clear how people in camouflage are shouting in the restaurant: "Lie down" and use a swearing against the detainee.
