Russian vice prime minister calls “referendum” results magnificent

Russian vice Prime Minster Dmitriy Rogozin, described the results of Crimean “referendum” as magnificent and considered them a “demonstration of the national spirit of our people”, reports Segodnya. 

According to Rogozin, referendum results depict the hope and expectations, which Crimean residents have for Russia.

“We must justify these hopes in full”, stressed Rogozin. 

As informed, on March 16, a referendum on the status of Crimea was held.  According to its “official” results, 96,8% of Crimeans voted for joining Russia. 

The EU, US and Canada do not recognize the referendum results.  However, Russian President Putin believes everything went according to the law.
