“The judge has met a request submitted by the military prosecutor and ruled that Major Starkov be sentenced to 14 years in prison and his property seized.

One of the major counts he was convicted of reads ‘committing hostile acts against Ukraine on orders given by Chief of General Staff Gerasimov’”, wrote Matios.

“Major Starkov pleaded guilty on all counts. He made no attempt to sing the Russian anthem, “added the Chief Military Prosecutor.

Major Starkov and a Donetsk insurgent were held up by Ukrainian border guards leaving Ukraine in a truck full of ammunition.

A video later emerged showing Starkov asking Putin not to give up on Russian soldiers.
