The Russian military have seized a Ukrainian frontier post in the Crimean village of Chornomorske, State Border Guard Service official Oleh Slobodian told Channel 5.
According to him, the attack on the frontier post took place at about 06-00 on March 9. "The unit has been captured by a group of 30 armed Russian servicemen. The details of the attack are being specified," Slobodian said, according to Ukrinform.
Later it became known that the intruders used KamAZ truck, 3 minibuses, 2 UAZ off-road vehicles with 50 armed unidentified men.
Furthermore, Slobodian noted that on March 8 technical observation posts were incapacitated. "Two technical observation posts were fully incapacitated, Russian troops stormed the posts, destroyed equipment and cables for information transmission," he added.
In turn, head of the Defence Ministry’s media center in Crimea Vladyslav Selezniov said last night in Crimea was relatively calm, without any provocation. At the same time, the Ukrainian Naval Forces Command headquarters in Sevastopol installed video cameras and now the situation can be watched online.
